MR1 1c GREEN WAR TAX


This stamps was issued in Aprl of 1915 to pay the War Tax on letters and postcards
to Canada, Mexico, the United States, and the United Kingdom and its possessions.
It was also to pay the War Tax on Postal Notes.


The 1c Green War Tax was printed from a single redrawn Die numbered OG-66.
All stamps were printed using the 'wet' printing method.

18 different plates were used to print the 1c Green.



Plates 1-12 were used to satify Printing Order(PO) 295.
